BRACHAH FOR MEALS
1. Blessed are You, Compassionate Creator, Who
provides the gifts of food and friendship, that our souls might be
warmed, our spirits uplifted, and our Best Selves nourished. We are
deeply grateful, for You have blessed us with family and friends who are
vessels of Your love on earth. Bless all who had a hand in bringing
this food to our table. Feed us of Your love, and we shall be nourished
again. Amein.
2. Bless us, Shekhinah, as we break bread
together. Your unending love binds creation together like a beautiful
patchwork quilt where each piece is unique and essential. May this food
nourish and strengthen us body and soul so that we may work together to
stitch Your quilt of love, Your canopy of peace here on earth. May every
hand that helped create this meal be blessed. Holy One of Blessing,
Source of goodness, it is pleasing and right to give thanks to You.
Amein.
3. We thank the One Who gives us food to live, and
strength to give. We say todah rabah b’chol eit u’v’chol sha’a; thank
you every day and at all times and in every hour. Hodu la-Yah ki tovah.
Thank You Yah for You are good.
4. V’al ha’kol, anachnu modim lach u’mvarchim o’tach. For everything, we thank You and we bless You.
5. Nish’mat kol chai tivarech et shimcha. The breathing of all life praises Your Name.
6. B’rucha at Yah, eloheynu ruach ha’olam. Blessed are you, Breath of Life, Spirit of the Universe.
7. B’chol l’vav’cha anachnu modim lach. With all our hearts we are grateful to You.
8. For each new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, For love and friends, For everything Your goodness sends! Todah rabah, Yah.
