"A commercial society urges its citizens to be responsible for things, but not for people. It is the unquestioned assumption of a mercantile culture that things need and deserve attention, but that people can take care of themselves."

Margaret Halsey, 1910 – 1997

There is a difference between reaching down to help, and reaching out to help. What of yourself can you share from a place of caring, kind, compassionate, equal partnership with another human being? The world needs you now more than ever. Someone needs you now more than ever.

"We’ve all heard the wisdom about the saplings that are flexible enough to bend without breaking, but the fact of the matter is that sometimes we just break. The question, then, becomes how we can thrive with the branches that are left.

What has helped you keep going after an experience of brokenness?"
